Suffering from severe nostalgia, heres a look I shot with the multi talented Visala Wong!
Visala and I have kept in contact through blogging, Instagram and emails, so it was lovely to finally meet her in real life to hug her! We began with a early brunch at Brick & Lane, where we basked about past experiences, studying abroad, and future life decisions. Speaking to her felt like I had an older sister, her words and experiences prompted me to consider my goals for 2015, and what I wish to accomplish with my degree.
Not to mention Visala is one of the most dedicated people I've ever met, her efficiency and energy is nothing but contagious.
Seriously, half of these shots wouldn't have even existed if it weren't for her creative spirit.
Speaking of creativity, Visala also created Dream Locket, a pre-wedding photography and fashion consultant agency!
Check it out! (click me)

Speaking of nostalgia, one of my favourite holiday pieces during the holidays was from Klarra!
It was relieving to finally discover a clothing brand that not only focused on design, but also quality as well.
I know it sounds cliche, but wearing clothes that are whimsical, not sheer, and have the ability to adapt to physical activity is something I need.
Take this shoot for instance, if the skort was super tight and constricting, no way would I have been able to climb the railings.
(yes, I lack physical activity)
Having finished with our shoot and having hectic schedules, Visala skillfully guided me to Cova, where we then said our goodbyes.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent having tea at Corra, a confectionary where Sabine, Julia and I met up at. It's been two years since our last reunion, so it was exciting to see how studying abroad was treating them.
As usual the dynamics of our group was as sarcastic as ever, and it paired well with the cake we ate.
After catching up on each others course load and mutual distaste for midterms, we all travelled back to Sabine's place where we watched Ghibli's "The Wind Will Rise".
Till next time lovelies!

I thought I posted these, but turns out I didn't.
As usual Brian did his magic of compromising to the night, because I didn't get off till late.
This was shot on the typical Granville St, where I nearly got ran over several times. (again)
Yes, I have a habit of shooting on roads.
I'm not one for throwbacks, but being a hermit reading notes on ecology, morphemes and elasticity has left me reminiscing the weekends where downtown used to be a frequent haunt.
Aside from studying I now spend most of my hours creating flat lays (view my v-day inspired one), editing , and if i'm lucky.... Sleeping.

In the spirit of procrastination, I was recently contacted about a fun quiz Farfetch was holding. The quiz itself bases your interest, preferences and style to determine which city your personality would fit.
And in need of a break, I took the quiz.

London

As you can see my result was London, which made sense, since I grew up influenced by a lot of British culture.
It also made me miss the excitement of travelling, and reminded me that I was in need of a getaway soon.
If you love running away from studies, you can take the quiz here.
I'd love to hear your results, leave a comment if you feel like sharing your style city!
Till next time lovelies!

Also here's some jams by Years & Years, a English electronica trio I enjoy jamming to late at night.

Yes, those are fake flowers.
Ah Valentines day, the day where lovers do romantic activities together and so forth.
(or an excuse to eat chocolate)
Surprisingly it's also a "depressing" day for those who are single, which is ironic considering that it's a day for celebration.
I'm not sure about the world outside University, but being in school I noticed that it's become a trend to complain worry about being single, and for people to say the term "forever alone"...
Trust me, you're not alone.

If you're vibing (slang I know) with me on this, lets go:
If you haven't found someone yet, then theres nothing wrong with that, it doesn't mean that you're lacking in anything, whether it be physical or mental qualities you deem yourself to lack of.
You are you, and no one will love or treat you better than yourself.

By expecting to find happiness through someone else is simply placing responsibility into someone else.

I'm pretty sure you've all heard what i'm preaching about millions of times, but seriously whats the rush?
I do get having someone is relaxing, to know someone who understands you, and accepts you for who you are.
Why not just ignore all that crap and focus on the shit you have going for you?
You're in school perhaps? Focusing on a major and figuring out what you want to do with your life?
Maybe you're travelling the world and not giving a fish about anything?
Or you could just be floating, and that's ok.
As long as you know where you're (sorta) headed, thats all that matters.
I hope this makes you feel slightly less lonely, and perhaps realize how spectacular you are.

Till next time lovelies!

Visual Diary: Winter '14

2/12/2015

Photography + Editing: Dreamer Charmyn

Excuse the spam of photos, but hey, you made it to the end!
Over the winter break, I visited Hong Kong for two weeks. I hadn't visited for the past two years, so I was extremely grateful to reconcile with family, friends, food and my home.

The city itself was breath taking as usual, the cluster of people surrounding you, the convenience of travel, and constant movement exuded every day. It felt like I was discovering a part of me I left behind a long time ago.

Meeting various people during my stay, I was reminded of the beauty, passion and stability I needed. It was a good reminder that change was inevitable, and that change came with time. By staying on this path, I hope to push my insecurities aside, in order to develop Komorebi, and focus on my studies.
Till next time lovelies!

Ps: watch the video in 1080p, I guarantee it won't be as bad in high definition.
